Iran's HCHR condemns Saudi-led invasion of Al Hudaydah

Here is the text of the statement:

According to regrettable reports, a new chapter in crimes by foreign aggressors invading Yemen under the so-called Saudi Coalition has opened and massive aggression from land, sea and air against populated port city of Al Hudaydah has been launched.

Like other ongoing invasions in the region, this operation is an absolute epitome of war crimes against humanity.

It is noteworthy that inhuman invasion of and siege over Yemen has not only destroyed infrastructures and installations of the oppressed, poor country, but is also gravely threatening lives of more than 300 thousand civilian people of the port city.

Besides its threat against the civilian lives of Al Hudaydah, the invasion of the port city is a serious threat to the whole people of Yemen who receive most of the international aids and essential goods from this single route.

Doubtlessly, like previous invasions, this military aggression will be confronted by resistance and endeavor of Yemeni nation and destiny of such invasions will be nothing more than defeat and humiliation of hostile countries and their allies.

Yet, based on humanitarian duties regarding international commitments, all countries of the world and particularly Islamic countries must not remain silent over these crimes.

The United Nations, Human Rights Council and Security Council of the UN should immediately take practical actions to stop these crimes.
