HCHR condemns political use of human rights international capacities

HCHR condemns political use of human rights international capacities
IRAN  - In a statement issued on Tuesday, the High Council for Human Rights condemned western countries’ use of human rights international capacities against Iran. The statement reads as follows:

Once again western countries' enmity towards the Iranian nation has been proved and Iran has become punished by a political statement merely for safeguarding its own rights and for defending the human dignity and the rights of independent nations. This time the Human Rights Council, a body established to promote human rights and protect rights of nations has become a political tool to be manipulated by arrogant countries.

The great Iranian nation has no doubt about the political use of human rights by western countries since, despite of the fact that more than half of the Human Rights Council member states disagreed with this political decision, the mandate of the Special Rapporteur for the situation of human rights in Iran has been extended.

The question raised by the Iranian nation is that how many more Palestinian and Yemeni children need to be killed by the Saudi and the Zionist regimes so that international human rights mechanisms would deal with them? The answer is obvious, never, for these two regimes are allies of western countries and purchase their arms.

The human rights background of western countries which have supported the extension of the Special Rapporteur's mandate is so dark that it could not be forgotten at all. More than one hundred thousand Iranian chemical veterans who are dealing with death every single moment of their life are only one sample of inhumane measures taken by the so-called human rights advocates.

The Iranian nation will never be deceived by the political games and the journalistic cunning tricks played by western countries who have had a key role in many inhumane measures against Iran including: the coup d'état against the then legitimate Iranian government, providing Saddam with arms to invade Iran, executing the US cruel sanctions on food, medicine and medical equipment against Iran, supporting terrorist groups such as the MKO and hosting economic criminals.

The political use of Human Rights Council and ignoring fundamental principles of international law all form a bitter fact which raises doubts about the position of the Human Rights Council and could even entail the international responsibility of this international body.

The High Council for Human Rights asserts that the political decision made by western countries with respect to the extension of the Special Rapporteur's mandate will never blur the bright and honorable human rights background of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Iran will not hesitate for a second in executing religious orders, the constitution and other domestic laws.

The HCHR condemns any kind of political use of international bodies, the illegitimate appointment of the Special Rapporteur for Iran and considers the politicization of human rights as the biggest threat against human rights and demands that all independent states stand against politicized approaches to human rights and particularly towards the Human Rights Council.

The HCHR considers making costs for those who take measures against Iran as a successful diplomatic strategy and demands that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs apply all its diplomatic capacities with regard to hostile measures adopted by western countries against the Iranian nation in the field of human rights.
