US sanctions are destructive virus infecting int'l relations; Tafreshi
IRAN  - The Deputy Head of the of High Council for Human Rights of Iran, Seyed Majid Tafreshi held a meeting with Ambassador Ken Okaniwa Deputy Permanent Representative of Japan to the International Organizations in Geneva .

In this meeting, bilateral legal and judicial cooperation, the recognition of unilateral and secondary sanctions as a "destructive virus" to the international relations and laws and the necessity to end the use of HRC mechanism to pressure country's by political resolutions were discussed.

Iran also proposed the possibility of halting 2020 Olympics in case the coronavirus is not contained and stressed that the reasons that undermine the countries' ability to fight the virus should be noted.

Tafreshi also stressed that an Asian Union alike European Union should be formed and slammed the assignation of General Soleimani which violated the international laws. "US has also assassinated a Japanese admiral 77 years ago, and the targeted killing of Iranian Major General was the second time Washington has committed such a crime."

The Japanese counterpart, on his part, welcomed the two country's 90 years of good relations, expressing the concerns of nuclear deal future. He stressed that his country is aware of Iran's good cooperation with IAEA and

Ken stressed the need for efforts to ease tensions, saying that Japan is trying to prevent politicization of human rights issues and promote legal and judicial dialogues with Iran.
