HR used as a weapon to target countries; Larijani
IRAN  - The Secretary of Iran's High Council for Human Rights, Mohammad Javad Larijani stressed the importance if strengthening the UPR mechanism, saying Iran has been actively working with UPR.

In the meeting of Non-Aligned Movement on the sidelines of the 34th session of Universal Periodic Review in Geneva, Switzerland, he called on the world countries to notice the facts, adding that today, "human rights has turned to be a weapon, used to target other countries and apply pressure against them."

"Human Rights does not mean ignoring cultural diversity," Larijani added, "the basis of the Non-Aligned Movement was to respect cultural diversity and differences."

In this meeting, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela delivered the presidency of the Non-Aligned Movement presidency to Azerbaijan after three years in a meeting where more than 70 representatives were present.
