Exhibit featuring Iran's HR achievements opens in Geneva
IRAN  - The achievements of the Islamic Republic of Iran in promoting the rights of women, children, religious minorities and the disabled, as well as its efforts to protect cultural and ethnic diversity is on display in Geneva.

Presented as posters, slides, and books about Iran's progress in advancing the human rights, these achievements will be on display for two days at the entrance hall of the 34th session of Universal Periodic Review in Geneva, Switzerland.


Addressed the inaugural ceremony, Iran Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN office in Geneva Esmaeil Baghaei Hamaneh stressed that Islamic Republic of Iran has high respect for the promotion of human rights.

He called the sanctions "inhumane'; adding that these penalties have violated the rights of Iranian people as their access to essential medicine and their right to health is being negatively impacted.

The effects of brutal sanctions on the Iranian people and also shown in this exhibit.

Geneva-based ambassadors of Pakistan, China, Korea, Oman, Syria, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Venezuela as well as representatives of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights attended the ceremony.
