Iranians mark US embassy takeover, calling US main enemy of hmanity
IRAN  - Iranian people and students participating in the Monday anti-US rallies in Tehran and other cities of the country to mark the 1979 seizure of the US embassy underlined that the US is still the number one enemy of humanity and the European countries are not trustworthy.

Millions of people, including school and university students, in different cities across the country participated in massive rallies, chanting "Down with the US" and "Down with Israel" slogans to show their strong condemnation of Washington's policies against Iran.

The Iranian people from all walks of life, including school and university students, took to the streets to mark the anniversary of the US embassy takeover in 1979 and commemorate the National Day of Campaign against Global Arrogance and the National Student Day in massive rallies on Monday.

Participants in the annual rally in front of the former US embassy in Tehran known by the Iranians as 'the den of spies' carried placards deploring the US hegemonic policies in the world, and set fire at the US and Israeli flags to show protest at their crimes against other nations.

At the end of their rallies on Monday, the participants issued a resolution in which they described the US as the number one enemy of humanity and its leaders and the European states as untrustworthy.

They also voiced support for the resistance forces in Lebanon, Yemen and Palestine as well as the oppressed people in Bahrain and Nigeria, strongly condemning the US, Israel and Saudi Arabia's plots to misuse popular demands and protests in Iraq and Lebanon to foment insecurity in these countries and sow discord among the Muslim states and the resistance front.

The rallies were held one day after Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei underlined that one of the reasons he had voiced objection to bilateral talks with Washington was blocking the United States' infiltration and influence over Iran.
