Man who tortured dog sentenced to provide free services to animals

Man who tortured dog sentenced to provide free services to animals
IRAN  - A man accused of hurting a dog was assigned to look after injured animals by the court in Gilan province.

The man was arrested after a heart-wrenching video of his cruel actions went viral. He was filmed tying a dog to his car while driving on the road; the miserable dog was pulled as he could not keep up with the driver's speed.

"According to the verdict issued by the court, the convict must learn how to offer services to animals which are being taken care of and he must also look after them four hours a day for 50 days," officials told local media.

The whole process will be monitored by the Environment Protection Office and the result will be reported to the court to be verified.

Iran's Judiciary has recently employed other alternatives rather than imprisonment to punish crimes.
