Official strongly blasts US sanctions' impacts on APO's training, research plans in Iran

Official strongly blasts US sanctions' impacts on APO's training, research plans in Iran
IRAN  - Head of the National Iranian Productivity Organization (NIPO) Fatemeh Pahlevani lashed out at Washington for reimposing sanctions against her country, cautioning that the restrictions hinder the Asian Productivity Organization (APO) training and research activities in Iran.

Pahlevani made the remarks, addressing an APO meeting in Manila, the Philippines, on Saturday.

She strongly condemned the US reimposition of sanctions against Iran, noting that they have left negative impacts on the implementation of APO's training, research and advisory productivity projects in the country.

Pahlevani also said that the negative impacts of the US cruel and illegal sanctions on APO's activities in Iran are unacceptable.

Established in 1961 as an intergovernmental organization, the APO works with 20 member governments in the Asia-Pacific region to improve productivity in the countries and drives sustainable socioeconomic development of the region through policy advisory services, acting as a think tank, and undertaking smart initiatives in the industry, agriculture, service, and public sectors.

APO Secretary-General Santhi Kanoktanaporn said that as a leading intergovernmental organization in the Asia-Pacific region, the APO is committed to helping member economies improve productivity and competitiveness by adopting digital technologies.
