Protester's death in custody being investigated; Tehran's prosecutor
IRAN  - Tehran's prosecutor Abbas Jadari Dowlatabadi told journalists on Tuesday that 70 detainees of the recent riots have been released on bail.

Their release came after the head of the Judiciary Ayatollah Sadegh Amoli Larijani ordered "separating those who were deceived and the real agitators behind the riots".

Tehran and some Iranian major cities faced people taken to streets to protest bad economic conditions, where the protests turned violent with some were killed suspiciously.

Hundreds of the people who had taken part in the recent riots have been arrested by the police, according to the deputy governor of Tehran province; mostly released on bail last weekend.

Referring to the reports about people who have died in custody, Dowlatabadi revealed that the death of one of the detainees at Evin House of Detention was due to suicide.

"Right after the incident took place, the special magistrate of the criminal court attended the scene and the case was filed; also, the prison staff and others were asked questions in this regard and the deceased's family was informed of the incident", he added.
