'Western people unwilling to back Israel'

'Western people unwilling to back Israel'
IRAN  - Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council says American and European people are no longer willing to pay the price of their governments' support for Israel.

"Today, Europe and the United States are facing serious challenges from their people for supporting the Zionist regime [of Israel] and the Western supporters of the Zionist regime have no answer for their people," Saeed Jalili noted on Saturday.

In a meeting with Hamas Foreign Minister Mohamed Awad in the Iranian capital Tehran, he added that the Zionist regime has become weaker and more isolated than any time before and its cries resemble the last moanings of a dying person.

"Distance from the Zionist regime, has become an index for winning votes in the Western and Arab worlds," he stated.

Jalili emphasized that the supporters of Israel can have no claim to advocating democracy, peace, and human rights.

He noted that victory is close for the Palestinian people, adding, "Palestine belongs to the entire world of Islam and should be liberated."

The Palestinian official, for his part, presented a report on the reconstruction of Gaza, saying the liberation of Palestine is an unwavering divine vow.

"The existing conditions in Gaza, including shortage of fuel and electricity, amount to a human crisis and countries which remain silent toward this issue are culprits in this crime against humanity," he said.
