IRAN
- A well known Iranian Scholar called the western unilateral sanctions against Iran as a vivid sample of violation of Human Rights.
Speaking to the panel " Violation of human rights on the pretext of sanctions " which held in side line of the 19th UNHRC session in Geneva, Dr. Alireza Deihim said: the direct impacts of the western sanctions against Iran is upon the poor's shoulder and this is exactly what we call the violation of human rights in the most obvious way.
Talking to the web site of Iran high council for Human Rights, Deihim referred to those sanctions which imply Iran air industry and said: each year in Iran some people dies because of the poor airplane technology which is rooted to the western sanctions.
If it wasn't for these sanctions, our people would use the standard airplanes and we wouldn't have so many casualties in this field, Deihim stated.
Calling the western sanctions against Iran as inhuman and a disgrace for those countries which have the many claims about human rights issues, this scholar added that the main goal of the west sanctions is to destroy Iran's economy and put more pressure on ordinary people.
According to Dr. Deihim the unilateral sanctions in different fields of business, economy, industry and bank is to reduce the amount of Iran's national revenue in that all sections of people will be affected.
Deihim stated that all these kind of sanctions against Iran even the sanction of some Iranian figures are against the aims of Human Rights declaration, for many of Iranian's right for having a peaceful , healthy and secure life has been breached by those sanctions.
In this panel which held by the Organization for Defending Victims of Violence, Ali Reza Deihim said: It is well known in all through the world that the sanctions reduce the quality of life and it is also obvious that the impacts of the sanctions are straightly burdened to the poor and the meek.
He then asked all human rights activists to push United States and some other western states to halt these sanction against Iranian people, which is totally against the jargons of human rights.
